Journal style entry. Nothing exciting. Just giving a short recap of life and looking at July.

June was a fast month.

My coursework is picking up. I had two tests this week, and more assignments on the horizon. I also signed up for a Paralegal conference in September. Hopefully, I’ll have a job by then, but if not then maybe I can make some connections at the conference.

I had my birthday. Swim team finished up. I had a chill few days while the kids were with their dad and his family in Galveston. I had a Tarot reading done. That was fascinating. Not sure how much I believe in it, but I'm curious to see how the next six months turn out. My psychic has a rather successful YouTube channel. Was not anticipating that, lol. Maybe I should write a 'story time' style blog about that.

I didn’t get to do as much as I hoped with everyone out of the house, but I did get to play major catch up on the class work. It’s summer so my workout routine is completely out of whack with the kids being home. I just accept it at this point. Summer is not the best for me both for diet and gym. I just have to ride out the 2-3 months until they’re back in it in August.

I also had my first mammogram, which wasn’t as bad as I feared, except that they wanted more imaging and an ultrasound for some of the tissue. I just had that second imaging done and spoke with the doctor. Basically I need to get imaging done every six months for two years to make sure nothing changes with a spot that they noticed. Because I’ve never had a mammogram before, they wanted to see if it’s something to worry about or if it’s just part of my baseline. If after two years, nothing changes, then it’s my baseline. From what I understand from the doctor, this is normal. All the same, what the hell. I had to have more testing done a couple years ago too. Can I have normal imaging done, please? But I’m glad with what I was told today. Otherwise I swear I would have lost it, because I don’t need to be dealing with cancer on top of everything else.

July will probably be just as fast. I haven’t been to DnD in a couple weeks, so I’m excited to go back! I did get the GoWild Pass, so after this weekend, I’ll probably start looking at weekend flights to go on. I’ve found a few websites that have been really helpful with showing how many flights a day to what cities, as well most likely to be non stop, and other helpful tools. So that’s good.

Wherever I visit, I’m curious to see if I can find other places like Barhaven where I can join in a game, or any conventions/festivals there. Or if I go hiking, I might see if I can find any hiking groups/meetups first. Houston has a closed group I’m interested in, but you have to wait for a spot to open up to join. But it could be a good way to maybe make friends if I end up visiting the area more in the future or mutual networking. I hope the Frontier pass will still be around in a few years, because I’ll be surprised if I’ll be able to use it a lot in the next year or two. But if it’s not, I’m sure I’ll find another way. Or who knows what will happen. But I’ll cross my fingers and make different plans, and just be as flexible as I can.
